About Sacred India Tour

The Sacred India Tour is arranged by Richard Masla ND, Director of the Ayurveda Health Retreat in Alachua Florida. Richard has been taking friends and guests with him to India since 1976.

In the early 70's Richard was inspired to read and study books of many spiritual traditions in search for meaning to life. He felt some disatisfaction with the way he saw people quarreling and fighting about whose path was best and then he dedicated himself to yoga, a peaceful practice of asana and meditation.

Through the writings of Ram das, he was introduced to Neem Karoli Baba, a guru that he felt was teaching the truth. "I felt a close connection with Neem Karoli Baba, he is a devotee of Lord Ram and Hanuman. I began chanting the name of the Divine - Ram, Ram Ram. Ram is also the initials of my name Richard Alan Masla - RAM. I can remember staying up during a full moon, chanting Ram throughout the night".

On his first trip to India in 1976 in the sacred village of Vrindavana he was initiated by the guru Swami Prabhupada who taught him the science of devotion, bhakti yoga. "The ancient spiritual culture of india touched my heart in a profound way. I had awakened my devotion to Krishna, my life path was before me".
